ACE FREHLEY's UFO Encounter To Be Included In VH1's '100 Most Metal Moments'

May 14, 2004

According to Antimusic.com, two of the segments that are scheduled to be included in "100 Most Metal Moments" — the upcoming VH1special focusing on the "entertaining (and sometimes shocking) moments" that defined heavy metal music's heyday — have to do with former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley. One deals with Ace's on-stage electrocution 1976 and the other is about his UFO encounter in 2002.

The UFO piece reports on Ace's UFO encounter with commentary from Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Sebastian Bach, Eddie Trunk and John Ostronomy. Ace originally told DJ Eddie Trunk about his encounter on Eddie's radio show, "Eddie Trunk Rocks", in July 2002.

"100 Most Metal Moments" premieres on Monday, May 31 at 10:00 p.m. Narrated by the always outrageous Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER),this special continues the tradition of VH1's "100 Greatest" series of specials which debuted with "100 Greatest Artists of Rock and Roll" in March of 1998.
